The National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia Hosted the Delegation of Ukraine Local Government Representatives

The National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (NALAG) hosted the delegation of Ukraine Local Government representatives.

The delegation is visiting Georgia in the framework of Study Tour program “Improving Municipal Transparency and Procurement Process”. Mr. David Melua, Executive Director of NALAG opened the meeting.

Mr. David Melua informed the guests about the activities of NALAG and introduced the implemented and future projects of the association, he also spoke about the measures taken to promote local democracy in the country and reviewed the study tour program.

Ms. Nino Zurabishvili and Mr. Kakha Gurgenidze, experts of NALAG and Mr. David Moralishvili, senior expert of State procurement Agency also attended the meeting, they made presentations about Georgian Local Government system and Municipal Finance and Budgets.

Within the framework of Study Tour the delegation of Ukraine will hold the meetings at the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia (MRDI), as well as in Telavi and Signagi municipalities. During the meetings guests will get the information about the decentralization reform, Methods and procedures used for civil monitoring of Public procurement at local level, Municipal Finance and Budgets.

The study tour is funded by USAID/Ukraine Democratic Governance East (DGE) Activity. It is organized in cooperation and partnership with NALAG. It will continue until 13 September 2019.
