Ms. Tamar Taliashvili, Vice-President of the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (NALAG), Vice-President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe participated in the meeting of the Bureau of the Congress held in Strasbourg.

Within the framework of the visit, Ms. Taliashvili participated in the discussion, where it was agreed that at the 37th plenary session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, among other important issues, a report on Georgia's cultural routes will be presented. The purpose of the discussion is to integrate Georgia into European transnational cultural routes.

Mr. Levan Kharatishvili, Deputy Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sport of Georgia will deliver a speech on this topic.

Georgia became a member of Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes in 2016. Its purpose is to represent different countries and cultures in the context of cultural heritage, as well as to collaborate in the field of culture, discover new routes and share tourism experiences.

In addition, Ms. Taliashvili made a presentation on the changes to the rules and procedures of the Congress. The proposed changes are intended to make the rules and procedures of Congress more transparent.

As noted at the meeting, the topic will be voted on at the 37th session of Congress in October 2019. Ms. Tamar Taliashvili also participated in the session of the Socialist Group of the Congress.

Members of the Bureau of Congress also discussed priorities of the Congress for 2021-2024, to address the challenges on the agenda of the Council of Europe and its member states.
