NALAG Held the XXXIV Session of the Executive Board

The National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia held XXXIII session of the Executive Board of NALAG, members discussed the issues on the agenda.

Board members elected Mr. Giorgi Tkemaladze, Vice-President of NALAG as a chair of this session, which was followed by the discussion of the 2020 draft budget of NALAG.

Ms. Natya Ghvinashvli, deputy executive director of NALAG presented the financial document to the executive board, all board members supported this document.

Besides, during the session members discussed the approval of three substitute members for the Georgian delegation to the Conference of the Regional and Local Authorities for the Eastern Partnership (CORLEAP).

As noted at the meeting, "CORLEAP" addressed a letter to the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia, in which they informed the association about the changes, in particular, the addition of the substitute members to the delegation. 

The Chairman of the session spoke about the importance of this conference and nominated the members of Rustavi, Ozurgeti and Mtskheta city councils, Mr. Giorgi Tchanturia, Ms. Mariam Chkhikvishvili, and Mr. Ioane Lashkhi, as delegates to the Conference of the Regional and Local Authorities for the Eastern Partnership.

The new composition of the delegation was approved by a majority vote.

The National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia was established at the joint initiative of the Council of Europe and the European Commission on 17 December 2004. The objectives of NALAG are the improvement of the local self-government system in the country and development of local democracy, decentralization of state power and development of local self-government institutions.
