With the initiation of the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (NALAG) and the financial support of the European Union, the process on Municipal Key Performance Indicators continues.

Within the project “Networking for Efficiency and Development” (N4ED), financed by the EU the Workshop on Municipal Key Performance Indicators has been held at “Holiday Inn Tbilisi.” The workshop was attended by representatives of NALAG, PMCG and the representatives of 10 municipalities of Georgia intended to pilot Performance Monitoring and Evaluation System (PMES) within N4ED project.

Ms. Tamar Abdaladze, N4ED Project Assistant and Mr. Vano Tavadze, Senior Consultant in Institutional Capacity Building, Monitoring and Evaluation at PMCG delivered the welcome remarks. During the workshop experts discussed the importance of PMES development in the municipalities of Georgia. They introduced Key Performance Indicators of municipal highways, municipal property, the local water supply and reclamation system, waste and natural resources management, as well as traffic management, spatial planning and other municipal services.

Workshop was held in the format of discussion and members of the working groups presented their visions and proposals.

As noted at the event, the recommendations provided during the workshop will be elaborated in the final document of PMES. 

Within one of the components of the project N4ED, PMES is being implemented in Batumi, Kutaisi, Mtskheta, Gori, Zugdidi, Lanchkhuti, Lagodekhi, Ambrolauri, Akhaltsikhe and Marneuli Municipalities. In the future this project will cover all the municipalities of Georgia.
