Ms. Tamar Taliashvili, Vice-President of the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia, Vice-President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe was nominated by the bureau of the congress as a speaker on rules and procedures of the Congress’ Charter.
Tamar Taliashvili stressed necessity of disussions on Russian occupation of Georgian territories under the current issues of international relations.
As decided by the bureau of the congress Mr. Thorbjørn Jagland the Secretary General of the council of Europe will present report on situation in Georgia to the plenary session of the congress.
Ms. Tamar Taliashvili also talked about role of local authorities in achieving sustainable environmental goals of the United Nations and raised the issue of non-inclusion of ecological problems in the format of open governance.
The agenda of this meeting included 11 issues, such as: discussion on inter-institutional relations of the Congress’, the working program of the Chamber of Local Government for 2019 and dialogue on the European Charter on local self-governance.
Members of the bureau approved the agenda for the 36th Session of the Congress.
