The Mayor of Tbilisi, supported by the Georgian Institute of European Values (GIEV), the National Association of the Local Self-Government of Georgia (NALAG), The Association for Efficient and Responsible Governance (AGER, MOLDOVA), as well as the Mayor of Chisinau and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe on the occasion of days of Tbilisi and Chisinau and to mark the European Local Democracy Week (ELDW) in October 2013, announce the competition on the best essay on the theme “The role and importance of the European Charter of Local Self-Government for the European perspectives of Georgia and/or Moldova”.
The competition is open to students of any CoE member states’ nationality residing in Tbilisi and Chisinau. The essays should be prepared in English or French. We are expecting to receive essays from 3 to 6 pages before 10 October 2013. The essays (in word version) should be transmitted electronically to the gievsecretariat@gmail.com (in Georgia) and olesea.stamate@ager.md (in the Republic of Moldova).
The authors of the best 2 essays will receive valuable prizes from the organisers. The chosen essays will be published in the Media of Georgia and the Republic of Moldova. The award ceremony will take place in Tbilisi in October 2013.
