The First Study Visit Will Be Held Within the Framework of the New International Project BRIGHT

April 23, 2026 /Posted byNALAG

Within the framework of the new international project BRIGHT, the first study visit will take place on April 27–30, 2026, in the city of Cahul, Moldova. The kick-off meeting and the first study visit of the BRIGHT project – “Engaging Regional Actors in Global Community-Driven Actions for Climate Adaptation and Sustainable Ecosystems in the Black Sea Basin” (BSB00733) – will be held during this period.

From the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (NALAG), the project Technical Officer, the Deputy Executive Director, Tatiana Bokuchava, and the Project Coordinator, Mariam Jincharadze, will participate in the meeting.

The three-day event will bring together representatives of partner organizations from Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, and Türkiye, aiming to discuss in detail the activities planned within the project, strengthen coordination among partners, and establish mechanisms for cooperation.

On April 28, a local forum will be held, during which participants will be introduced to the objectives and goals of the BRIGHT project, and will discuss challenges and opportunities related to climate change adaptation and energy efficiency. International experience and best practices will also be presented at the forum.

Within the framework of the working meetings, particular attention will be given to the activities planned for the first phase of the project, including: policy analysis and development; the introduction of the “Digital Twins” mechanism; capacity building and the development of a toolbox; and the formalization of cooperation among partners.

Participants of the meeting will also take part in study visits, where they will learn about local climate-related initiatives and gain practical experience on site.

The lead partner of the project is the Union of Bulgarian Black Sea Local Authorities (UBBSLA). The project partners include the Agency for Cross-Border Cooperation and European Integration (ACTIE), the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (NALAG), and the Eastern Black Sea Development Agency (DOKA).

BRIGHT is implemented within the framework of the Interreg VI-B NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme and is funded by the European Union. It aims to strengthen the capacities of local authorities, promote regional cooperation, and support the development of climate-resilient policies in the Black Sea region
