{"id":115645,"date":"2025-02-19T07:36:38","date_gmt":"2025-02-19T07:36:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nala.ge\/?p=115645"},"modified":"2025-02-21T10:07:04","modified_gmt":"2025-02-21T10:07:04","slug":"nalag-executive-board-approves-composition-of-legal-affairs-committee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nala.ge\/en\/nalag-executive-board-approves-composition-of-legal-affairs-committee\/","title":{"rendered":"NALAG Executive Board Approves Composition of Legal Affairs Committee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (NALAG) held the LIII session of its Executive Council, chaired by the Vice-President of the Association and Chairman of Tbilisi City Council, Giorgi Tkemaladze.<\/p>\n<p>One of the key issues discussed during the session was the composition of the Legal Issues Committee, which was established based on the regulations approved at the previous session.<\/p>\n<p>The Executive Director of NALAG, Nino Rukhadze, presented the candidates for membership in the Legal Issues Committee to the session participants.<\/p>\n<p>According to the head of the association, an application for participation in the committee\u2019s work was sent to all municipalities of Georgia, including the heads of 12 self-governing units.<\/p>\n<p>Following the discussion, the committee&#8217;s composition was unanimously approved.<\/p>\n<p>By the decision of the Executive Board, the Mayor of Kharagauli Municipality, Koba Lursmanashvili, was elected as the Chairman of the Committee. The following municipal leaders were elected as committee members:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Davit Razmadze \u2013 Chairman of Gori Municipality Council<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Paata Kulashvili \u2013 Chairman of Dmanisi Municipality Council<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Matsatso Narimanidze \u2013 Mayor of Dusheti Municipality<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Vasil Gvelesiani \u2013 Mayor of Zestaponi Municipality<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Tengiz Mtvarelishvili \u2013 Chairman of Telavi Municipality Council<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Davit Darchia \u2013 Chairman of Ozurgeti Municipality Council<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Davit Cherkezishvili \u2013 Mayor of Tkibuli Municipality<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Beka Vakhradze \u2013 Mayor of Poti Municipality<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Irakli Shengelia \u2013 Chairman of Kutaisi Municipality Council<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Rostom Lortkipanidze \u2013 Chairman of Shuakhevi Municipality Council<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Nino Liparteliani \u2013 Chairman of Khashuri Municipality Council<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Legal Issues Committee of NALAG aims to actively engage in matters related to local self-government and protect the interests of municipalities. The committee is responsible for reviewing legal acts prepared by state authorities, evaluating them, and, if necessary, submitting relevant recommendations and comments.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the committee will work on legislative proposals and draft by-laws to support the development of self-government and advance the decentralization process.<\/p>\n<p>During the session, the Executive Board also elected Dusheti Municipality Mayor, Manana Narimanidze, as a member of the Commission for Reviewing Sexual Harassment Complaints.
