With the support of the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia and the LEPL International Education Center of Georgia, fifteen civil servants employed in local self-governments will travel to Greece and undergo a special course to improve their qualifications.
The representatives of the municipalities were selected through a three-stage competition, which was implemented by the International Education Center in cooperation with the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) and the European School of Law and Governance (ELGS).
The Qualification Enhancement program for local municipalities of Georgia will take place on July 8-19, 2024, at the EPLO premises in Athens and Legraina, Greece.
Today, in connection with the mentioned topic, the executive directors of NALAG and the LEPL International Education Center – Nino Rukhadze and Nunu Mickevich, along with the head of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) regional representation, Ioseb Nanobashvili, held a meeting with the scholars.
The program encompasses topics such as: The EU decision-making procedures and an institutional chain of the EU decision-making; The EU unique institutional set-up; European Elections; EU law-making, its implementation and monitoring; legislative competence-sharing between the EU and its member states; EU Judiciary system; EU Enlargement; EU membership criteria and accession stages; Georgia on its path toward the EU membership: 1991-2024; EU and its neighborhood after the EU βBig Bangβ enlargement of 2004-2007 β Western Balkans vs Post-soviet countries, etc.
In the end of the program, participants will be invited to take tests. Successful participants will be awarded by the EPLO Certificates of Successful Completion of Specialized program in EU studies.
The International Education Center will cover all expenses related to program.
It should be noted that NALAG and the LEPL International Education Center have signed a memorandum of cooperation, which includes promoting the education, skill enhancement, and employment of civil servants abroad for the development of local self-governments and regions.
