From September 23 to 27, a pivotal working meeting was convened for the implementing organizations of the ‘EcoYOU: Clean and Green Minds for Environmentally Friendly Behavior’ project in the Republics of Moldova and Romania.
It’s important to highlight that the ‘EcoYOU: Clean and Green Minds for Environmentally Friendly Behavior’ project is a joint effort co-financed by the European Union under the Black Sea Basin Program. The project is implemented simultaneously in Georgia, Moldova, and Romania; the implementing body from the Georgian side is the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (NALAG).
On the Georgian side, participants included Tatiana Bokuchava, Project Manager and Deputy Executive Director of NALAG, and Mariam Jintcharadze, Project Assistant and International Projects Development Manager of the association. Representatives from the beneficiary municipalities were also involved, including Nodar Kobiashvili, Adviser to the Mayor of Dusheti Municipality, and Giorgi Edisherashvili, Director of the Gori Municipality Development and the Tani and Tedzimi Protected Landscape Management Agency.
The project’s goal is to increase communities’ and local authorities’ involvement in environmental protection activities, with a focus on reducing microplastics in rivers, lakes, and along seashores.
“EcoYOU” involves transnational cooperation between environmental NGOs, educational institutions, civil servants, and youth groups. The project aims to address pollution issues effectively by using shared resources and exchanging experiences.
The trainings were held in Cahul, Republic of Moldova, and the Romanian cities of Galați and Constanța.
