The National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia is continuing its series of training sessions for representatives of member municipalities aimed at promoting qualification improvement.
Organized by the association, a seminar on “Spatial and Urban Planning” took place in Tbilisi from June 3 to 6. Representatives from the relevant departments of Dusheti, Tianeti, Mtskheta, Gori, as well as Tetritskaro, Borjomi, and Akhaltsikhe municipalities participated.
Before the training, the executive director of NALAG, Nino Rukhadze, along with his deputy, Lasha Archvadze, addressed the audience.
According to the heads of the association, the trainings organized by NALAG are planned based on the requests of public officials and are fully adapted to the needs of their activities.
According to them, NALAG’s weekly online consulting service has been successfully operating for the fourth month, involving support for municipalities in implementing their own and delegated powers for local self-governance.
The training was led by Gvantsa Japaridze, a representative of the Spatial and Urban Development Agency, who provided detailed explanations to the attending public about the structure of spatial and urban planning, including its stages and the administrative procedures for issuing building permits.
The seminar took place amidst discussions, providing attending participants with the opportunity to engage with the expert regarding challenges within their respective municipalities and explore potential solutions to address them.
The vice-president of NALAG and mayor of Dusheti municipality, Manana (Matsatso) Narimanidze, was also engaged in the training, which took place in the Tbilisi City Council.
