To enhance cooperation between municipalities and Georgia’s legislative body, Nino Rukhadze, Executive Director of the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia, met with Kakha Kakhishvili, Chairman of the Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee of Parliament.
The parties focused on the importance of increasing the involvement of self-governments in legislative activities and discussed principles for enhancing joint mechanisms and future perspectives to promote this process.
As mentioned at the meeting, various forms of cooperation, including NALAG platforms involving multi-level dialogue, will be further activated with the involvement of the relevant committee.
According to the decision reached during the meeting, joint activities will also be organized, and projects will be developed to help municipalities strengthen their institutional capacities and enhance coordination between parties in the decentralization process.
Vladimer Bozhadze, advisor to the Executive Director of NALAG, and the committee staff were also involved in the working meeting.
