The National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia held its seventh conference, during which the Best Practice Program (BPP) Award Ceremony was organized.
The event was attended by the President of NALAG and the Mayor of the capital, Kakha Kaladze, who addressed the conference participants.
“I am pleased to host the seventh national conference and the Best Practices Program Award Ceremony on behalf of the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia. It is gratifying that we are entering today’s conference with tangible and visible results that we have achieved through the implementation of the Best Practices Program. As you know, the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia, with the support of donor organizations, has been implementing the Best Practices Program since 2018. The program has been running for seven years, and interest in it is growing. It contributes to the identification of successful examples of service delivery at the local self-government level and their sharing with other municipalities. As a result, we already have quite innovative and successful projects, many of which have been recognized as best practices. We, of course, should not stop there. In the coming years, we must do everything to strengthen municipal services and improve their accessibility,” Kakha Kaladze said.
At the national conference, special prizes and certificates were awarded to the heads of the municipalities of Dusheti, Kutaisi, Poti, Tetritskaro, Senaki, Dmanisi, Kharagauli, Rustavi, Oni, Batumi, Baghdati, Khashuri, and Zugdidi. Employees of self-governing units who directly participated in the preparation of the competition applications were also recognized. The Mayor of Tbilisi congratulated the participants of the Best Practices Program competition on their achievements and wished them continued success.
