The National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (NALAG) held eco-educational seminars for students living in Gori municipality.
The training covered topics related to waste management, climate change, the circular economy, and the importance of protected areas.
After completing the educational program, participants cleaned up the area around the Tana River.
The events were part of the “EcoYOU: Clean and Green Minds for Environmentally Friendly Behavior” project, organized in collaboration with the Gori Municipality Development and the Tana and Tedzimi Protected Landscape Management Agency.
The project’s goal is to increase communities’ and local authorities’ involvement in environmental protection activities, with a focus on reducing microplastics in rivers, lakes, and along seashores.
“EcoYOU” involves transnational cooperation between environmental NGOs, educational institutions, civil servants, and youth groups. The project’s main goal is to address pollution issues effectively by using shared resources and exchanging experiences.
“EcoYOU” is co-financed by the European Union under the Black Sea Basin Program and is being implemented in Georgia, Moldova, and Romania.
