The National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia held a two-day working meeting to develop the basic framework for the personal assistant program.
In addition to representatives from the municipalities, Nino Rukhadze, the Executive Director of Atea, participated in the meeting. Tamar Kurtanidze and Nikoloz Rosebashvili, heads of relevant departments from the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure and the Ministry of IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health, and Social Protection, were also present, along with experts Nino Zurabishvili and Aleksandre Svanishvili.
At the session, the aspects of delegated authority were discussed in detail, after which the parties agreed on the basic framework of the personal assistant program.
As mentioned during the meeting, NALAG expressed its readiness to participate in the program’s implementation within its scope of competence and to provide methodological assistance to member municipalities in developing the necessary documents and tools.
It is important to note that, starting January 1, 2025, municipalities will be required to provide personal assistant services within the scope of their delegated powers.
