The XLVII session of the Executive Council of the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia was convened, with Vice-president Giorgi Tkemaladze presiding.
Following the approval of the agenda, the report on the implementation of the organization’s budget for 2023 was presented and the draft budget for 2024 was discussed. Nino Rukhadze, the Executive Director of NALAG, presented the draft financial document in detail to the Council members.
According to the head of the Association, NALAG’s budget lays out new important initiatives for fostering inter-municipal dialogue and cooperation, capacity building and empowering of local authorities. The budget proposes introduction of new positions at the NALAG for galvanizing international projects and strengthening advocacy for the interests of municipalities.
The budget complements these proposals with a plan for developing Association’s website and a monthly electronic newsletter. The budget review occurred amidst discussions, following which the members of the executive board unanimously endorsed the NALAG 2024 financial document.
On the same day, session participants deliberated on proposed changes to the association’s administrative manual and approved Association’s new apparatus.
Towards the end of the meeting, there NALAG’s new website concept was presented,. As highlighted during the presentation, the revamped portal will provide the public with diverse and current information, featuring an updated design. The incorporation of Georgia’s map on the web page is noteworthy, allowing users to access detailed information about implemented and ongoing projects in various municipalities.
The Executive Council session, lasting more than an hour, was conducted online.
