The National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (NALAG) held the LIII session of its Executive Council, chaired by the Vice-President of the Association and Chairman of Tbilisi City Council, Giorgi Tkemaladze.
One of the key issues discussed during the session was the composition of the Legal Issues Committee, which was established based on the regulations approved at the previous session.
The Executive Director of NALAG, Nino Rukhadze, presented the candidates for membership in the Legal Issues Committee to the session participants.
According to the head of the association, an application for participation in the committeeβs work was sent to all municipalities of Georgia, including the heads of 12 self-governing units.
Following the discussion, the committeeβs composition was unanimously approved.
By the decision of the Executive Board, the Mayor of Kharagauli Municipality, Koba Lursmanashvili, was elected as the Chairman of the Committee. The following municipal leaders were elected as committee members:

- Matsatso Narimanidze β Mayor of Dusheti Municipality
- Vasil Gvelesiani β Mayor of Zestaponi Municipality
- Tengiz Mtvarelishvili β Chairman of Telavi Municipality Council
- Davit Darchia β Chairman of Ozurgeti Municipality Council
- Davit Cherkezishvili β Mayor of Tkibuli Municipality
- Beka Vakhradze β Mayor of Poti Municipality
- Irakli Shengelia β Chairman of Kutaisi Municipality Council
- Rostom Lortkipanidze β Chairman of Shuakhevi Municipality Council
- Nino Liparteliani β Chairman of Khashuri Municipality Council
The Legal Issues Committee of NALAG aims to actively engage in matters related to local self-government and protect the interests of municipalities. The committee is responsible for reviewing legal acts prepared by state authorities, evaluating them, and, if necessary, submitting relevant recommendations and comments.
Additionally, the committee will work on legislative proposals and draft by-laws to support the development of self-government and advance the decentralization process.
During the session, the Executive Board also elected Dusheti Municipality Mayor, Manana Narimanidze, as a member of the Commission for Reviewing Sexual Harassment Complaints. She will also serve as the Chairperson of the Commission.
The meeting, which was held online, was also attended by Lasha Archvadze, Deputy Executive Director of NALAG.
