The National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (NALAG) and United Cities and Local Governments Asia-Pacific (UCLG ASPAC) signed a memorandum of cooperation to deepen partnership and foster practical collaboration between the associations.
The signing ceremony was held online on May 21, 2025. The document was signed by NALAG’s Executive Director, Nino Rukhadze, and UCLG ASPAC’s Secretary General, Dr. Bernadia Irawati Tjandradewi.
The memorandum encompasses cooperation in areas such as: sharing knowledge and experience, capacity building, and exchanging best practices; strengthening regional and global cooperation; developing joint projects and seeking potential funding; and promoting cultural and institutional exchange.
The agreement aims to advance bilateral cooperation at both regional and international levels, enabling local governments to actively participate in international cooperation processes.
Both parties affirm that the partnership is grounded in the principles of equality and mutual respect.
As stated by NALAG’s Executive Director, Nino Rukhadze, the memorandum marks a significant milestone in integrating local governments into the international community and expanding their capabilities. The organization continues to actively broaden its cooperation network and facilitate the sharing of international experiences for its members.
