On October 17, NALAG held a seminar for students at Kaspi Vocational College.
The training was organized as part of the “EcoYOU: Clean and Green Minds for Environmentally Friendly Behavior” project and was led by Mariam Jincharadze, International Projects Development Manager of the Association, alongside Soso Mezvrishvili, Director of the Gori Social “Space Cafe” and a trainer specializing in climate change and environmental protection issues.
The purpose of these events was to raise awareness among young people about the various forms of pollution affecting Black Sea basin countries. In particular, the seminars provided information on the desertification of protected areas and rivers, as well as topics related to the circular economy, waste management, and climate change.
It should be noted that the project, co-financed by the European Union under the Black Sea Basin Program, is being implemented in Georgia by the National Association of Local Authorities (NALAG).
The project’s goal is to increase communities’ and local authorities’ involvement in environmental protection activities, with a focus on reducing microplastics in rivers, lakes, and along seashores.
“EcoYOU” involves transnational cooperation between environmental NGOs, educational institutions, civil servants, and youth groups. The project aims to address pollution issues effectively by using shared resources and exchanging experiences.
