A memorandum of cooperation has been signed between the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia and the LEPL International Education Center to promote education, qualification, and employment of civil servants abroad to develop local governments and regions.
The document was signed by the Executive Director of NALAG, Nino Rukhadze, and the Executive Director of the International Education Center, Nunu Mickevich.
The primary objective of this memorandum is to foster the development and implementation of programs and projects that will enhance the professional capabilities of civil servants working in self-governing units.
Within the partnership framework, close cooperation in the direction of scholarship and grant programs is also planned, which implies promoting qualification enhancement for civil servants’ professional development.
The memorandum also envisages promoting graduates’ employment within the framework of the centre’s scholarship and grant programs in local governments and regional public/state institutions.
As the executive director of the mentioned centre, Nunu Mickevich, explained during the presentation, the new sub-program of the International Education Center aims to support the regions of Georgia in receiving education abroad and promoting qualification enhancement. According to her statement, the program’s beneficiaries will be young people selected through a competition who will receive education and qualifications abroad with state financing. After returning to their homeland, they will be employed in the regions. The goal is to use the acquired knowledge to aid the region’s development.
The document signing ceremony was attended by the Deputy Executive Director of the Association, Lasha Archadze; NALAG’s International Projects Development Manager, Mariam Jintcharadze; and representatives of the International Education Center.
