At the LVIII meeting of the Executive Council of the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (NALAG), the first vice-president and three vice-presidents of the association were elected. This decision was made by the new composition of the Executive Council, which was approved at the 8th National Assembly of NALAG.
The candidates nominated by the President of NALAG, Kakha Kaladze, were presented to the meeting participants by the Executive Director of the association, Nino Rukhadze.
By a majority vote, Zurab Abashidze, Chairman of the Tbilisi Municipal Council, was elected as the first vice-president, while the vice-presidents were Nino Latsabidze, Mayor of Rustavi Municipality; Giorgi Tsintsadze, Mayor of Batumi Municipality; and Nino Liparteliani, Chairman of the Khashuri Municipal Council.
The newly elected vice-presidents of NALAG thanked their colleagues for the trust and expressed hope for fruitful cooperation in the future toward the development of the association and the strengthening of local self-government.
At the meeting, which was chaired by Zurab Abashidze, Chairman of the Tbilisi Municipal Council, the organization’s 2026 budget was also discussed, along with new cooperation agreements with member municipalities and the issue of the association’s delegates to international organizations: CORLEAP, CEMR, CEMR Youth Delegate, PLATFORMA, UCLG, and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.
