Georgian Delegation Participates in the 14th Annual CORLEAP Meeting

October 29, 2025 /Posted byNALAG

On October 27–28, the 14th annual meeting of the Conference of the Eastern Partnership of the Committee of the Regions and Local Authorities (CORLEAP) was held in Yerevan.

Participating from Georgia were members of the delegation nominated to CORLEAP by the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (NALAG): deputies of the Tbilisi City Assembly β€” Levan Abashidze and Nino Vardosanidze, as well as a member of the Zugdidi Municipal Assembly, Sandro Sordia.

The meeting participants discussed ongoing decentralization processes in the region, directions for strengthening local self-governments, and the significance of the European Union’s new Black Sea strategy in the context of the Eastern Partnership.

Special attention was given to CORLEAP’s 2025–2030 Action Plan, which aims to increase the involvement of local and regional authorities in shaping common European policies.

The official program also included a visit to the Yerevan Municipality, where participants familiarized themselves with the operations of local governance and the practical implementation of energy efficiency projects.

The Conference of the Eastern Partnership of the Committee of the Regions and Local Authorities (CORLEAP) is a political forum for local and regional authorities of the European Union and Eastern Partnership countries. CORLEAP is the only platform that provides an opportunity to discuss the contribution of cities and regions to the development of the Eastern Partnership.
