Eco-Friendly Events Held in Romania within the “EcoYOU” Project Framework

September 5, 2025 /Posted byNALAG

Within the framework of the international project ” EcoYOU: Clean and Green minds for an environmentally friendly behavior” diverse events were held in Romania, aimed at raising environmental awareness and transnational collaboration.

From Georgia, involved in the activities were representatives of the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (NALAG)β€” the organization’s Deputy Executive Director, Tatiana Bokuchava, and the International Projects Development Manager, Mariam Jincharadze, as well as Georgian students Elene Tetunashvili and Elene Rachvelishvili.

Within the framework of the events, a meeting of partner organizations and thematic activities were held, oriented towards ways to address environmental challenges, sharing experiences, and raising awareness of the importance of eco-friendly behavior.

The participants conducted a cleanup action on Vadu Beach, which contributed to raising awareness of the importance of reducing microplastics. Additionally, an educational-cultural visit was held to the village of Jurilovca to deepen knowledge about preserving natural and cultural heritage.

Within the framework of the events, the participants visited the historic center of the city of Constanta, and in the second half of the day, special sessions, presentations, and discussions were held on environmental policy and the role of young people.

The project, which is being implemented with EU co-financing within the framework of the Black Sea Basin Programme (Interreg VI-B NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme), is coordinated in Georgia by NALAG together with partner organizations from Moldova (Cross-Border Cooperation and European Integration Agency), from Romania (Pro-Natura Association, Galati; Mare Nostrum Ecology, Constanta).

“EcoYOU” aims to strengthen collaboration between environmental organizations, educational institutions, and young people, reduce microplastic pollution, and introduce sustainable environmental practices in the Black Sea Basin countries.
