The Legal Affairs Committee of the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (NALAG) continues to hold working meetings in a regional format.
At the current stage, a meeting was organized in Kobuleti Municipality, attended by the heads of municipalities from all five regions of Western Georgia.
Alongside the mayors of the municipalities, the meeting included NALAGβs Executive Director, Nino Rukhadze, and her deputy, Lasha Archvadze.
The main objective of the meeting was to analyze the legal challenges existing in the municipalities and to identify issues requiring a systemic approach and legislative-level responses.
Within the framework of the discussions, several needs were highlighted, including property management, the use of natural resources, accessibility of services in the social and healthcare sectors, and the necessity of regulating the specifics of public service in municipalities.
As noted during the meeting, based on consultations with the municipalities of Western Georgia, the Legal Affairs Committee plans to continue dialogue with the relevant state agencies, which will facilitate the integration of the issues identified in the municipalities into the legal framework.
It is noteworthy that the Committee has already held a similar format meeting with the municipalities of Kakheti and Kvemo Kartli, after which the identified needs were presented to the relevant agencies. It was emphasized that during the meeting, readiness was expressed on several issues to respond and incorporate appropriate adjustments into the existing regulations.
