The National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia held a working meeting with regional civil society organizations focused on gender equality and women’s empowerment in the Kakheti region.
The meeting was organized as part of the project “Women’s Leadership for Democracy in Georgia” and was facilitated by UN Women representative and project analyst Marika Jobava.
The meeting participants were introduced to the mandate of the National Association of Local Self-Governments by Tamar Prangishvili, a leading consultant at NALAG, and discussed the importance of civil society participation in implementing the European Charter for Equality of Women and Men in Local Life.
A discussion was held during the meeting, where representatives of regional organizations shared challenges related to their activities. Participants also presented their own recommendations.
The working meeting, held in Telavi Municipality, was organized in cooperation with NALAG and UN Women within the framework of the project “Women’s Leadership for Democracy in Georgia,” funded by the Government of Norway and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
