In 2023, the Localization Committee for Human Rights Protection was established within the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (NALAG). The committee, composed of members of the NALAG Executive Board,was created within the joint project – Strengthening Participatory Democracy and Human Rights at the Local Level in Georgia, funded by the Austrian Development Agency, implemented by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe and the NALAG.
The purpose of the committee is to facilitate dialogue on the localization of human rights and, in accordance with the strategy developed by the Association’s experts,coordinate activities carried out by municipalities in the field of human rights protection.
